Carley graduated from The Evergreen State College with a B.Sc. in Interdisciplinary Biology and Chemistry, specialized in instrumentation. During her time at TESC, she used ICP-MS to detect trace metals in the Deschutes River, as well as gaining proficiency in other analytical techniques and instrumentation. After completing her undergraduate degree, Carley joined the Bush lab in the fall of 2023, where she is focusing on instrument development. Currently, she is working with a ratiometric fluorescence imaging system using seminaphtharhodafluor (SNARF) to study electrospray ionization fundamentals.
